Sub-µstructured polymer surfaces with periodic topography and permittivity

Directeur dethèse : Jean-Paul Chapel & Renaud Vallée

The main idea of the project is to engineer dynamically tunable responsive substrates for the sake of photonics applications. In particular, via the development of sub-microstructured polymer surfaces with controlled periodic features (topography-roughness and dielectric permittivity), obtained by natural buckling of smooth polymeric substrates undergoing a mechanical (PDMS) or osmotic (PS) stress, we aim to engineer (complete, tunable) photonic band gap structures.
